12D HIFU SCULPT

WHAT IS HIFU?

A HIFU stands for High-intensity focused ultrasound and has recently been growing in popularity due to the increased demand for achieving significant non-invasive skin lifting and tightening. The HIFU also helps reduce excess fats in areas such as the jowls, double chin and cheeks and utilises ultrasound energy to tighten the skin and reduce unwanted facial fats in certain areas.

Ultrasound is an energy modality that focuses and penetrates deep into the skin layers, causing thermal (heat) coagulation. The ultrasound used in HIFUs is similar to ultrasound scans in medical clinics or hospitals. However, instead of scanning a broad area, ultrasound energy in HIFU focuses and converges onto a small focal point in the skin. Increased temperatures on the focal point result in tissue coagulation to stimulate collagen production and targeted fat reduction. There is no damage to the surrounding skin or tissue except at the focal point. As a result, HIFUs can target deep skin layers to cause tightening and lift the face without needles or surgery.

WHEN SHOULD I SEE RESULTS?

You will start to see results after the first session, but the best results are at 12 weeks, as your body naturally works to produce collagen and tighten.

  • Complete facelift (overall tightening)
  • V-shape facelift
  • Double chin reduction
  • Jowl reduction (tightens and reduces saggy jowls)

BEFORE YOUR HIFU TREATMENT

Exposure to the sun burns the skin, and sunburned or (recently) tanned skin cannot be treated with HIFU. In addition, all chemicals which irritate the skin should be avoided as this may prevent treatment.

AVOID ANTIBIOTICS

Please avoid antibiotics if you're considering a HIFU skin treatment, as some antibiotics might make you light-sensitive. If you need to take antibiotics, your treatment will need to be postponed for two weeks after the completion of the antibiotics cycle.

HAVE YOU RECENTLY BEEN UNWELL?

The HIFU facelift treatment process is relatively safe. However, people who want to undergo HIFU treatment must not have a history of cold sores or fevers before treatment. Cold sores will impair the treatment process. In addition, the HIFU treatment cannot be carried out while you have a fever.

In such cases, the treatment can only be done after recovery from either the cold sore or fever. Therefore, ensure that you are free from these health issues at least the day before the HIFU treatment.

ON THE DAY OF TREATMENT

On the day of the treatment, all forms of make-up and moisturisers should be avoided.

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before treatment so that we can screen your individual circumstances.

HIFU FACELIFT AFTERCARE

TAKE A BREAK FROM ALCOHOL

Avoid giving your liver excess work. Drinking alcohol should be avoided after the treatment. After the treatment, your liver will break down the deactivated fat. Consuming alcohol means the liver has to break down alcohol in addition to the deactivated fat. Besides the fact that alcohol overworks your liver, it also reduces the density of your blood. Less dense blood implies excessive bleeding may occur since blood clotting will be challenging. Avoid drinking alcohol at all costs.

AVOID SCRATCHING YOUR SKIN

At this time, your skin will be susceptible and scratching it puts you at risk of skin damage. If you have scars, you should also allow them to fall off naturally. Removing them may lead to a large wound, leading to infection. Avoid scratching your skin after you must have had your treatment done.

DRINK MORE WATER

Water must come first before other beverages that you consume. Water will also help your recovery by increasing the rate at which collagen is produced in the body. Of course, it's best to keep your body hydrated, so drink as much water as possible.
